Love my Callisto, but.....
Ok, Vista release day +1 and no sign of any update of drivers or software from either Sondigo or Cmedia.
I was hoping to have at least a news release or a post on the forum regarding progress or lack of progress due to Cmedia's lack of base drivers. I've also noticed that Cmedia's website is experiencing some sort of down time. No forum right now.
[update] was able to access the Cmedia forum through a link. http://www.cmedia.com/forums/index.php
Hope this helps anybody looking, but still no sign of Vista drivers for Callisto.
Any word on progress would be much appreciated.

Hi Hack,
As you guessed, we are waiting for a Nitrogen D2 base driver before releasing a Callisto driver for Vista. I do know that the drivers are being worked on, but we still don't have a firm date for them. As soon as we have the drivers, they'll be up on the site, so just keep watching in the next couple weeks (or hopefully sooner).
Thanks,
Aaron
Hi Aaron,
Hi Aaron,
Thanks for replying. I've kinda been following what has been happening both here and over at the Cmedia forums. It seems like Cmedia might not be in business any more. If this is the case, Sondigo might just think about starting work on drivers of your own.
Not trying to sound too negative, but there seems to be zero activity over at the Cmedia forum from anybody at that company. I have seen you post there, I think.
What's the chances we might see something, anything, even a beta Vista driver in the near future?
I really can't wait to use this Callisto to it's full potential, currently only 2 chan. stereo. I bought it as a christmas present for my Vista MCE computer. He likes it but wishes he could throw out some smooth digital 5.1 sounds.
Thanks again.

Hi Hack,
I have been checking out the C-Media forum, and I think a lot of people are jumping to some pretty wild conclusions over there. I can tell you for sure that C-Media is working on Vista drivers, and that they're definitely still in business. It's Chinese New Year this week, which is why there hasn't been any activity the last few days. Obviously we need their help to get our drivers out, so we are in touch with them about the current status.
I still think we should see driver releases in the next couple weeks. It's also worth noting that there are a LOT of hardware companies that don't have any support for Vista at this point. The reality is that it's not a simple task to update drivers for a new OS, and we've seen similar situations for a few months each time Microsoft has released a new OS.
