11 Weeks Later, I Have The Same Problem

I am experiencing the same problem described by the originator of this thread (unknown password apparently set in my Sirocco). Please send me instructions for solving this problem.

Thanks,

Same problem. Missing password.

I'm having the same problem. Reset to factory defaults and still no luck. Could the answer be posted so that everyone with the problem doesn't have to ask for the answer individually?

Sure- resetting the firmware

Sure- resetting the firmware should fix the problem for you. This resets the device back to its factory defaults automatically.

Using the reset button almost always does the trick, but if that's not working, then a firmware reset is the next step

Reset The Firmware?

A reset doesn't seem to remove the password. When I attempt to flash the firmware again (whether through the web interface or using the Wizard) my Sirocco requests a password. So, it's not possible to flash the firmware through the two documented means. Some router/AP's have the ability to accept a firmware update using tftp. Is this a possibility or is there another way?

Thanks,

Yup, I'm in a similar boat.

Yup, I'm in a similar boat. After mistakenly installing the old firmware over the top of the new beta firmware included with the Vista drivers (the website told me it was 'new' firmware) the Sirocco reqires a username/password to connect to it. Doing a hard reset (holding down reset button for 10 secs) doesn't fix it (though it did seem to shut off the DHCP server in the unit, so to connect to it now through direct ethernet I have to explicitly set the IP address on my laptop). I can't re-flash the firmware through the web interface, obviously, and trying to do it through the Vista install software won't work because it doesn't recognize the Sirocco (even though I can hit it and get the user/pass request through a web browser).

Can somebody please just post the login/password for all of us that are stuck on this?

Thanks!

I've had email conversations

I've had conversations with a few of you via email, and at least two people had this problem after installing the v110 firmware over top of the newer v1_0_0 firmware. I am wondering if this is the case for anyone else?

Please reply if you had installed the v1_0_0 firmware as part of the driver upgrade procedure, and then installed the v110 firmware over top of that. Also, when you choose your Sirocco from the device list, which firmware version is it reporting?

Thanks,
Aaron

As I Mentioned In The General Forum

I installed the v110 firmware over the new v1_0_0 firmware because the Dolby Live (5.1) feature didn't seem to work in the new firmware. I now have the unknown username/password problem.

Currently the Sirocco Wizard (and your Sondigo Product Support page) report that my Sirocco is using firmware version v1.10.0.10.

SAME PROBLEM: User name and Password

I tried to load the old firmware 1.10 over the new 1-0-0.
Then the driver told me no device. So I reset with the reset button. The it asks for name and pass, even in the wizard and in a browser. Please help us.

I just posted this to the

I just posted this to the other forum as well:

Hi guys, sorry about the wait. Here is the user/pass combo that should allow you to install the v1_0_0 firmware to the device.

User: super
Pass: (leave this field empty)

You might find that logging in works better through the older XP driver's wizard (as opposed to the web interface). If you have access to an XP computer, I recommend that route.

Remember that only the v1_0_0 firmware is compatible with the new Vista/XP driver. Sorry about the confusion.

Password Reset

I had problem with new firmware with Dolby 5.1 and so down grade back to the old version. Now I can't config the device with out knowing the password. I never set a password on it. What's going on. Please help

Hi pugman,
Did you try the following credentials (see the post above)?
User: super
Pass: (leave blank)

it worked under the configuration wizard. It allowed me to scan for network and pick up my wireless access point, and i completed the wizard. I disconnected from ethernet port, but my wireless light from the Sondigo will not light up and I don't see the sondigo. I'm an advanced user and I used to fo into the web browser to config when I'm using the ethernet port. I use the default 192.168.1.254, but now I can't get in there. It prompted me for a user and password. I tried to use 'super', but it did not work. Please help.
