rmaa

Hi,

I was wondering if your company had any rmaa results I could look at. The rmaa results over at the tech review that did the comparison between the inferno and x meridian did not fair to well for the inferno even though they use the same dac. I am trying to figure out why. The rmaa test used the loopback and since you guys use a different dac for input than xmeridian does I was wondering if this was the cause, I was under the assumption that the analog out should be the same since they use the same dac so please inform me if anyone knows.
Thanks!

Hi Gaillard,

Hi Gaillard,
As you alluded to, there is a flaw inherent in using a loopback test to measure audio output quality. In a loopback test, the audio output is going back through the sound card's input, so the ADC has a *significant* effect on the results.

With the X-Meridian, you get a slightly nicer ADC, but you are also paying quite a bit more for it. As always, it's the customer's choice, just be aware that loopback tests are a measure of both ADC and DAC performance.

Hi gaillard, I think you

Hi gaillard,
I think you might've lost a post here as well (we just did a database upgrade and lost some forum data). If there's any unanswered questions, please post them again.

Sorry for the inconvenience,
