When I go to Siroccos Control Panel/Audio Setting, drop S/PDIF Output setting to Dolby Digital Out, under Audio System Status it only shows 5.1 CH highlighted when my receiver is a 7.1 system, anyway to set it to 7.1?
I was looking for a stand by mode when not in use and have not seen one, nor do I see a stand-by mode on the Sirocco itself, should I unplug it from the Sirocco when not in use? I just want this thing to last. Thanks in advance for any input!

Hi, No plans on expanding to
Hi,
No plans on expanding to 7.1 unless Dolby updates Dolby Digital Live to do that (it's their bitstream format that is 5.1). Also, there is no Linux driver in production right now, we're focusing on adding Vista and OS X support right now. I don't think you can run the driver in Wine, but you could try.
Thanks
Thanks for the fast response, yes my receiver does automatically convert it from 5.1 to 7.1 when using DDL, I just thought that I might be missing a setting, just out of curiosity, the 7.1 CH shows there, is that for future firmware upgrades? =) Also, any chance that the Sirocco will be coming out with a Linux driver? or do you know if I can run this in Wine?
Hi, No, there's no 7.1 mode,
Hi,
No, there's no 7.1 mode, but if you're using Dolby Digital Live, I believe your receiver should automatically upmix the side channels into the back channels.
As for standby mode, there isn't one, but there shouldn't be much strain on the Sirocco when it's not connected. If you're not going to use the Sirocco for a long period (ie going on vacation), it might be a good idea to unplug it while you're away. However, I've had one of the pre-release Siroccos powered-on at my desk for over a year and a half with no problems.
Hope this helps,
Aaron
