I set the sound on software in the game and lowest quality settings with EAX not active and it is "bumpy" sound or no sound. I have wipe out the config file in the profile and it works fine for awhile but no surround sound. Then goes back to "bumpy". EA does not offer much in the way of good customer support so they have not been much help since it is not a "creative piece". This is a real dissapointment since this card works so well with Steam products and other games I have.

We've had a few customers with problems in this game, and from what I can tell, there are widespread problems with other audio devices as well. Setting the audio options to minimum solves a range of problems with most games, but the fact that this doesn't help is a bad sign.
Unfortunately, given the game's problems, I don't know of anything else to suggest.

Thanks for your speedy reply. I am now playing with the game on the lowest setting sound wise which is just stereo no rear channel surround just reverb.
Is there anyplans to update the software to read the X-Fi or Advanced HD 5.0 as a readable format? It appears that more games are going to be using these like Bioshock which I am downloading the demo for both on the 360 and my PC to see which one looks and sounds better before I buy it. But on the spec for the PC version it references those formats for the recomended settings. The 360 is dolby digital of course and sounds amazing! So this will be interesting to see as a the first direct comparison game to game I have tried.

I am guessing that by Advanced HD 5.0, you are referring to EAX 5.0?
We would certainly be open to supporting it, but it's not an option, unfortunately. All versions of EAX above 2.0 are proprietary Creative technology, which they choose not to license to other companies.

Thats kinda what I thought(makes good anti-trust argument). Anyway it appears it is mostly related to the EA/Dice coding in 2142. I am very happy that Bioshock sounds just as good as the Xbox 360 on the PC and looks even better! It has provisions for selecting EAX and the speaker set up the end user is using. So I turn off EAX and set up at 5.1 for speakers voila!! it worked perfectly. The game is very enviromental so the sound is critical for the imersion in the game. Its very eerie at times and you here creaks and groans from being underwater from every corner of the room.
We need to get Sondigo onboard with some developers for future projects :) I love this product best 50.00$ I have spent in years.

Great, glad you are enjoying the Callisto. Note that the Callisto does support EAX 2.0, so EAX will work fine with some games, just not with stuff that is specially designed for EAX 3.0+.
