I'm very interested in the Callisto. My only issue is with driver support. I can't seem to find out whether or not the drivers support windows xp x64. I noticed drivers for vista, but not xp x64. Am I to gather that there are in fact no drivers supporting that OS?

Hi, We do not officially
Hi,
We do not officially support XP x64, as quite frankly there has been almost no demand for it (for all our products). The regular XP drivers might work, but I must confess that I'm not vary familiar with XP x64, so I can't confirm that.
Is anyone else using the Callisto with XP x64?
maybe I'll upgrade...
maybe I'll eventually end up upgrading to Vista x64, that's where support ought to move for most devices anyway. But if it's avoidable I'd rather not. I've heard of users getting XP x64 drivers to work in Vista, does it also work the other way around?
I've not heard of it
I've not heard of it happening the other way around, and I doubt it does. It's much more likely that Vista would be able to run a legacy driver than XP being able to run a driver for a newer system.
Upgrade?
X64 is important for some applications and in the very long run we should all be using it, it's true.
But in the short term, driver support (not having a go at Sondigo here, but rather, every vendor in the world really) is awful for 64 bit OS's (not just Windows).
Microsoft also has a long way to go to make X64 as stable as X86 is. While x64 should be so much more reliable, it's the opposite, mostly because just about every device driver I've handled for x64 has been buggy in some way or another.
I think the move to 64 bit is best left until major corporations are using it on thousands of desktops and HP and Dell and Lenovo will only sell you 64bit OS's preinstalled.
