Is EAX only supported on the analog connection? And not optical?

Just wondering. I haven't tried the Inferno yet, but had order the Tritton AX360 headset which supposedly is optical. But now I'm beginning to wonder if that was a mistake and I should return the headset (I haven't received that yet).

I probably would be better off with an analog headset? I was interested in trying the 5.1 headsets.

The Inferno supports EAX 2.0, regardless of whether you're using an analog or digital connection.

I run Vista x64. I was trying your Inferno card with the Tritton ax360 headset. It uses the optical out on the sound card. The tritton headset supposedly is 5.1 surround sound speakers in the headset.

However when I choose DTS Interactive as an option, no sound comes out. I'm not sure if its the headset having the problem, or does DTS Interactive not work with Vista x64?

Dolby Digital works, but I wanted to try the DTS Interactive.

Hi,
DTS works fine with Vista, so most likely your headset does not support DTS Interactive input. You might want to check with the headset manufacturer and confirm this.
