How to set Dolby Digital Live as the Default format for audio output in Vista 64?

Hi,

How do I set the Dolby Digital Live as the Default Format for the audio output in Vista 64?

What I did is
1. open Sound control panel
2. Select Digital Output of "C-Media CM103 Like Sound Device", click Properties
2. select Advanced tab, in the Default Format, there is no "Dolby Digital Live" in the selection.

Compared to my motherboard's onboard audio solution, which also support DDL, it does have the "Dolby Digital Live" as one of the selections for the Default Format.

The reason I want this to be set is I want any audio source in Vista 64 will be encoded to DDL format and send to S/PDIF output, instead of having:

2ch audio -> PCM 2ch output
DD 5.1 -> passthrough S/PDIF
DTS --> ?! failed to passthrough in Vista 64

All I want is to achieve
2ch audio -> DDL -> S/PDIF
DD 5.1 -> passthrough S/PDIF
DTS --> passthrough S/PDIF

So that my speaker set will always receive Dolby Digital format from S/PDIF, not PCM.

I foresee this requires Driver Update. When will that be ready then?

Thanks.

Perhaps I am misinterpreting

Perhaps I am misinterpreting your post, but I think all you have to do is install the driver (if it's not there already), open the control, and enable Dolby Digital Live in the SPDIF output section.

With the callisto, you cannot select the SPDIF output format from the Vista Sound panel. This selection can only be made in the Callisto's own control panel.
