Inferno analog output

Can I hook up my stereo preamplifer directly to one of the outputs on the card so that I can play songs that are on my pc through my stereo. I only have RC jacks on the preamp. I am also worried about the signal being to strong and damaging the preamp.

I have done exactly as you suggest and it works well. Just buy a cable with a stereo mini jack on one end and two RCA jacks on the other end. Plug the mini jack into the "Front out" connector (the one at the opposite end of the card from the optical connections) and plug the RCA jacks into the Aux or Line inputs of you stereo preamplifier.
