Hi Aaron,
I cannot enable DDL or DTS as the primary output mode for the digital S/PDIF out.
Previously in Windows XP, I set the digital output mode as DDL, and my receiver displayed the Dolby logo and all five speakers and the subwoofer were lit up in my receiver's display. The same applies to DTS Interactive.
In Vista x64, using drivers that I downloaded from the post you made in the forum (inferno_xp_vista_20070830.zip), I am unable to "force" the Sondigo to output in DDL or DTS via S/PDIF out.
Even if I select DDL or DTS Interactive as the output mde, my receiver is only receiving a linear PCM signal. Only the Left and Right speakers are lit up in my receiver's display, although I do receive sounds from my rear surrounds and the subwoofer.
Is DDL and DTS not fully supported via the S/PDIF out with the current driver set?

Hi Aaron, I tried the
Hi Aaron,
I tried the following but it did not work.
DVD program: Intervideo PowerDVD 8
Movie: 300
Audio Config in Intervideo: Audio Output is Digital S/PDIF out to External processor
Windows Vista Audio Config: Digital Audio Output, DTS and Dolby Digital are checked as supported encoded formats, 44.1 KHz and 48.0 KHz are checked as supported sampling rates
XEAR Control Panel for Sondigo Config: Input 6CH, S/PDIF Output Dolby Digital selected (I also tried DTS but it did not work either)
When I attempted to play the movie, it stuttered a lot durign playback. There was no sound as well and the receiver's display showed two speakers lit up and PCM as the output.
As a test, can you open up a
As a test, can you open up a software DVD player, and set the audio output in the program to SPDIF (not "analog", or "speakers"). Then play a DVD with Dolby Digital audio on it, and see if the receiver is getting a DD signal?
DDL and DTS via Digital
DDL and DTS via Digital Ouput still does not work either the original Beta drivers, the newer beta drivers, or any of the C-Media 8788 chipset based drivers for other soundcards.
I've also found that other Vista x64 users have not been able to set DDL or DTS as the preferred digital output mode on their Sondio cards as well.
Is there a solution to this?
When will C-Media release a final driver set for Vista x32 and x64?
I have double checked the
I have double checked the Default audio output device in Vista and I can confirm that it is indeed the Inferno's Digital Output.
I have disabled the speaker output as I do not have any analog speakers connected. I have set the Digital output mode in the Sondigo control panel as DDL and DTS, but each time I select "ok" and close the control panel, there is no effect on the receiver as it is still receiving a PCM signal.
Unfortunately the drivers dated 20070416 did not work for me as there is the driver signature issue when I attempt to install the drivers.
You should definitely be
You should definitely be able to output DDL and DTS in Vista x64. One thing to check is that your default audio output device in Vista is the Inferno's Digital Output, and not the
"Speaker" output.
If that doesn't help, try the original Vista driver here, and see if that solves the problem:
