Hi, We haven't heard of
Hi,
We haven't heard of anyone using the Sirocco in the car, although it is possible. You'll have to have a wireless network set up in the car, and have a power outlet available for the Sirocco. If you do try this, please let us know- we'd love to see how you integrate the Sirocco into a car.
sirocco in car
so besides power, i only need the sirocco and an 802.11 enabled device like an iphone, laptop, etc??? will i need a wireless router as well
If you use the newer
If you use the newer driver/firmware, you can actually use the Sirocco as its own access point, so that you won't need an additional router.
Also, please note that you can only stream audio to the Sirocco from Windows (XP or Vista) PCs at this time.
Amazing
I just put this idea down as my xmas task.
Now that Laptop drives are big enough to cope with some of my music collection (without an extra usb drive hanging off) I was thinking of putting a Sondigo in the car too.
Is there any special way of setting up the internal wireless access point to avoid a modem? (is there a thread already?)
I'm thinking of getting a box to fool the stock head unit into thinking a Sondigo line is a CD changer.
Otherwise a switch in the speaker line seems a cruder way of attacking the problem.
Can anyone give me a quick brief an how car sound generally works in this scenario to save me the research time?
If not, I'll report back with what I find.
