5.1 Speaker Config

Hi-
I am using the Inferno on Windows Xp Sp2 - With the SPDIF out to my receiver - Selecting Dolby Digital Live or DTS Interactive work perfectly - This card is used as part of Media center to play back AC3 or DTS DVD's only - Isn't the Dolby Digital Live or DTSi re-encoding the signal? Is there any way to get straight DD or DTS out via PCM? I have no DSP mode enabled - I am just totally off here? Also, all music played automatically becomes 5.1,I would like stereo music to default to Stereo..

Hi,
If the Inferno is being fed a DD or DTS signal, it will send it straight to the output. It can't re-encode it to DDL/DTS, because the Inferno doesn't know how to decode these formats (it can only encode).

As for the stereo music, by default no upmixing to 5.1 is done (unless Pro Logic IIx or DTS Neo:PC are enabled). You might want to check your receiver and make sure no upmixing is happening there.
