Doly Digital Live sound problems in Vista Ultimate

I recently upgrade from windows mce 2005 to windows vista ultimate 32-bit, now when i enable dolby digital live, all the audio on my system is higher pitch, music sounds like whining girls or chipmunks. it was working perfectly in mce 2005. i'm using the spdif output to my home theater receiver, and i have to keep it in 2 channel pcm which means my subwoofer wont turn on, nor my rear/center speakers.

If this is a problem you're

If this is a problem you're only seeing with WMP, then I think the audio settings for that program are likely at fault. You might want to experiment with the settings in Tools->Options... (in WMP) to find a way to fix it.

As for the lag, is it just a delay in the starting of the audio, or is it a consistent latency while playing?

Sounds like the same problem

Sounds like the same problem I'm having.

I downloaded VLC Player for kicks and it has another setting for audio (5.1) which gives me the output I'm looking for but Windows Media Player 11 doesn't work no matter what I try.

I'm using Logitech Z5500's which are essentially the same as a home audio system.

My only complaint now is the lag I experience, it takes about half a second for my sound to kick in when it does work.
