Sirocco works perfectly after setup the first day, is powered down, then becomes inoperative the next day.

Setup: Windows XP with service pack 2 on Toshiba laptop. (I have also
tried a Dell Dimension with the same behavior on each system.)
Windows firewall enabled.

Wireless Router: Linksys WRT54G with firewall protection enabled, WPA preshared key used with WPA algorithm TKIP used.

Security Software: Norton 360 with it's firewall enabled.

Initial installation went great using provided ethernet cable to the Toshiba laptop. The Sirocco was up and running in wireless mode in 15 minutes.

Everything was shut down for the evening in an orderly manner. The next day the Sirocco would not function. It did not appear on scan by sondigo sirocco control panel.

I hooked it back up to the Toshiba laptop through the ethernet port. My ethernet port was enabled. Looking in the Network
Connections Window of the Control Panel I saw, under LOCAL AREA CONNECTION, the port repeatedly reporting "Acquiring Network Address". Apparently the port never got the address so then it's status changed to "Limited or No Connectivity".On the Sirocco the LAN light was still lit along with the power light.

At this point I used the RESET option on the Sirocco, holding it in for at least the required 10 secs. I figured starting
from the factory default might help. The RESET light on the Sirocco would not light during this procedure (have I got a bad unit?).

After attempting the hardware reset, I tried disabling and enabling the ethernet port again. It still came up with the error "Limited or No Connectivity".

Under this "Limited or No Connectivity" state I've tried to run the Sirocco setup wizard. Whenever I try the "Device Configuration" option the WiWizard pops up in a window and states "No Available Devices Were Found". This is probably no surprise because of the previous "No Connectivity" warning.

I've looked at the ethernet port connections under Control Panel -> Network Connections -> Local Area Connections -> Properties and can find nothing strange. Under TCP/IP parameters I have checked "Obtain IP Address Automatically".

At this point I am wondering the following:
1) Is the unit dead?
2) Is one of the three firewalls (Microsoft, Norton 360, or Linksys) interfering with communication with the Sirocco on the ethernet port?
3) Is the use of WPA encryption on the wireless side giving me problems? Why this would show up at an ethernet port I couldn't fathom.
4) Is the ethernet port configured wrong?

I still can't explain why the unit worked flawlessly the first night with the easy setup at the same ethernet port.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Greg, One thing I've seen

Hi Greg,
One thing I've seen happen before is that the driver software needs to be re-installed after a reboot for some reason. Try uninstalling the Sirocco driver, and then re-installing it. See if that gets you back in contact with the device, and then we'll take it from there.

buffering issues
