This approach requires updating the Windows Registry, so this is not recommended if you are not familiar with this process. You could mess up other applications and Windows itself if you don't do this right. I recommend that before you mess with your registry, you backup (export) the key node you are about to modify, so you can restore it if your changes cause problems. *********

Basically, since you can launch the control panel when you need it, you can remove the entry that starts this up when windows starts.
Using REGEDIT.EXE:
Locate the registry key node Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
In there, simply delete the entry for Cmaudiow, which is what kicks off the C-Media control panel extension cmcnfw.cpl.
When you want to actually run the Sondigo control panel, simply click the Sondigo Sirocco Wireless Audi Bridge link under Start > Programs > Sondigo Sirocco.
I too find this VERY ANNOYING. I'm just a home user and typically play sound through the PC. I bought the Sirocco to occasionally play music from my PC on my stereo and it works great. I've been able to store all my CDs in boxes and now I play them from the PC - very handy. But I only do this once in a while. So when I boot my PC, I'd like to have it 1) come up using the audio driver I had it configured to use when I shut it down and 2) not launch the control panel GUI (just leave the icon on the system tray and maybe give me the option to remove that as well). I can always launch this from Program Files if/when I want to.
Lasly, when my wife turns on the PC to use it, she's playing all her sounds to the Sirocco now and has no idea what's going on. There's no way I'm going to explain to her what she has to go through every time she boots to get sounds to come out of the PC.
Then PLEASE, Sondigo, update the driver so that it doesn't open the control panel at start up - it's REALLY not necessary and it's REALLY REALLY annoying. And add the possibility of connecting/disconnecting with a left click on the tray icon or something like that. It is two simple things that are very important for the functionality of the Sirocco.
(This has been a request several times for the last year, but nothing is happening - please people, add a comment to support such an update)
I figured out one way to accomplish this

Stop it from loading at startup.
How about it Aaron???
I have been waiting 2+ years for a soulution to this annoying problem.
Annoying control panel problem aside, my Sirocco has performed well.

Hi Lazman, There is no way
Hi Lazman,
There is no way to stop the Control Panel from loading at start-up, since it is part of a driver, not just a program.
