Audio Options/Sound Card Options

Hi,

I have had my Sondigo Inferno for almost a year and have only used it a total of 2 months cumulative. The reason being that the only drivers I could find at the time kept making my pc crash when I would watch Anime or movies through any programs. Now that there are alot more drivers available I have recently installed it again(last nite). The only issue I have is that I do not have any options besides OS(Windows XP) options at hand. I have tried re-installing several times. I am using (cmi8788_512010008_xp) driver which I picked up last nite. If this is the incorrect driver can someone point me to the right one? And would installing this driver not allow me the options to configure the sound card? Please help as soon as possible. Thanks in advanced.

INput/output Issues

To add some other issues, I am not able to get any sound output from the center connection and well as not receiving audio from my mic which is connected properly.
Please help.

Hi Dan, I'm not sure which

Hi Dan,
I'm not sure which driver you have (not familiar with the name). I'd recommend trying the drivers at http://www.sondigo.com/drivers, specifically the newer one for both XP and Vista. Give that one a spin and let me know if you still have problems.

What benefits does this have?

Being that these drivers are from 2006, what benefit am I gaining? There doesn't seem to be any improvement in drivers for my card. Well my real question is, are these the same drivers from the disc that comes with the Inferno card? If not, what are the differences? Should I revert to the disc first and see if there is some luck there or just immediately go to the drivers listed on your page? Thank you.

Dan

Hi Dan, The XP/Vista driver

Hi Dan,
The XP/Vista driver I recommended is the most recent (August 2007), and is different from the driver on the CD. While the main difference is Vista compatibility, there are some miscellaneous bug fixes in that version as well.

Awesome Aaron

I did not realize you meant that driver. Ha. Almost wasted precious time trying to play with that old driver. Thanks again. I am now going to try this one out. I will be back to let you know the good and bad or the awesomeness of this driver. Thanks again

Great Awesome

Aaron thanks again.. I tried the newer driver and it works flawlessly for the options I use. One thing though, can I fake out the card to this my headphone is my center speaker so if I don't want to hassle with switching the analog outputs it will always work? If not, no big deal... Thanks again... Also I wanted to hook up a 5.1 system, if I do that then Where will the center channel hook up go since it is the Center/Subwoofer output on the card.

Dan

Hi Danny, Unfortunately the

Hi Danny,
Unfortunately the headphone output can only come out of the front (green) jack. As for the center channel, the Center/Sub output is a stereo jack, with both Center and Sub signals coming out. Most PC speaker systems will connect this way.
