Dolby Pro-Logic II not working under Vista

Hi,

DPLIIx is not working under Vista with the latest drivers (20070830 package). I have set input to 2-channel, and output to 6 and 8 channels, and it doesn't work in either. Playing stereo music with Windows Media Player, or stereo audio through PowerDVD, stereo doesn't get expanded at all, no sound coming from the surrounds nor the center channel. Also, music/movie modes don't change anything, as neither do the front/back and stereo separation sliders in music mode.

Anyone else having this trouble?

I see now that some others

I see now that some others were having similar trouble with DPLII in another thread. I resolved this downloading the Auzentech X-Meridian driver, which is the exact same version as the Sondigo beta one. Just to let you know.

This too happened to me with the previous version, I had to use the X-Meridian's previous driver too to get rid of some bugs. Sondigo needs to do more testing I guess.

Interesting- not sure why

Interesting- not sure why our driver would give you troubles if the two were the same version. I'll check with our contact at C-Media and make sure that we do in fact have the latest driver.

same problem

Hi i have the same problem, i just installed vista business x64 however installing x-meridian driver did not fix the issue.

If i have windows set sound output in speaker mode, i can set 2ch on c-media control pad and i can get pro logic but dts only encodes 2 channel and outputs on all 6 channel so i only get stereo in matrix (no surround for movies or games but a 'fake' prologic).

if i set 6 channel speaker output dts encodes all 6 channels but THERE IS NO PRO LOGIC button! so music only gets stereo again with no rear.

If i set windows to output via spdi/f I ONLY GET STEREO NO MATTER WHAT and DTS/DDL DOES NOT WORK AT ALL.

I am guessing x64 vista drivers suck? or did i miss something...
