No SPDIF output

I have tried everything I have found on the boards and still cannot get the SPDIF output to work on Vista SP1 x64. I have installed numerous drivers and have tried many different programs (WMP11, iTunes, VLC). I do get a red light in the port and I have tried 2 different optical cables and several different ports on my receiver. I have tried PCM and DDL output modes. If I bring up the 'Sound' menu in Vista it shows me 2 playback devices, Speakers and Digital Output. If I set Digital Output as my default the level meter shows that it should be outputting, by I get no sound. Any ideas of other things I could try? Thanks for the help.

Hi, Try the "Speaker" output

Hi,
Try the "Speaker" output device in Vista. The separate devices that Vista creates don't necessarily map exactly to the corresponding hardware outputs, unfortunately.

Speaker output device only outputs analog signal

When I do that I only get analog output through the mini jack, no output from the SPDIF jack.

What receiver are you using?

What receiver are you using? Do you have any other audio devices connected to it optically? If you do, try setting the receiver to the other device's input, verify that you're getting sound out of the receiver, and then plug the Callisto into this same input. This should eliminate most of the variables at the receiver end.
