Can't record with Inferno

I have tried recording using the line input (where I can see a level and make a recording using Windows sound recorder) and the CD Player (no level shows). When I try to click on the record button, nothing happens.

I am using Windows XP.

Is there a way of bypassing the Windows sound kernal? It is a nuisance.

Thanks.

Don.

Hi Don, I'm not entirely

Hi Don,
I'm not entirely sure what you are trying to do- are you trying to record from the CD Player application to the Inferno's audio input?

Hi Aaron, I am trying to

Hi Aaron,

I am trying to record from a receiver plugged into the line input. I just mentioned the others because I tried those to see if I could get the record button to work. It doesn't seem to work on any input.

Hi Don, So Windows Sound

Hi Don,
So Windows Sound Recorder works, but not any other software?

Hi Aaron.

Hi Aaron.

That is correct. I haven't tried anything other than the Sondigo software. I was concerned about conflicts with other software.

Since your question, I have downloaded and tried Audacity and that seems to work. I just assumed that I could make recordings with the Sondigo Inferno software.

Don.

Ah, I see. No, the Sirocco

Ah, I see. No, the Sirocco control panel doesn't come with any recording software. Audacity is a good, free choice for that.

Aaron

I am referring to the Inferno. The mixer tab has a record button in the upper left hand corner of the lower panel and the instructions in the manual say:

Recording Levels
Each of these sliders allows you to control the input volume of different recording sources.

Of course, all this may be moot if the sound board has been discontinued.

Don.

Hi Don, The recording

Hi Don,
The recording section of the Inferno's control panel is just used for setting the recording source and level. It doesn't do that actual audio recording part- that is up to the audio program of your choice.

Hope that helps,
Aaron
