Sirocco WAB Update

Well it's been a few months since I last posted. I even grabbed and installed the v2.6 beta software listed in another thread. Here is my current situation:

Driver: v2.6 Beta
Firmware: v1.4
Wireless: Disabled
LAN: Connected to a gigabit router

OS: Windows Vista-32 Business

I previously posted a list of items that worked well for me and solved a majority of my problems. Some of those things involved disabling the "QoS Packet Scheduler" and "TCP/IPv6". Add to those the command:

netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=disable

after that addition much of my skipping stopped except for ONE instance:

When the machine is rebooted the buffer is NEVER able to stabilize and there is lots of skipping. I have to either EXIT the Wi-Sonic Wireless Audio Center or "Disconnect and Connect" back to the Device. If I opt to disconnect and connect I lose my Audio Output "6 Speaker" setting (rather annoying!). But, generally after the first attempt of one of those two solutions everything is fine. I can run for days/weeks without an issue until the next reboot.

This is taking more effort than I expected but I have a pretty much working environment, except for the mentioned issue.

Hopefully these additional suggests help others and C-Media/Sondigo can correct my above problem.

Thanks!

I suspect that you mean that everytime the application (re)connects the Sirocco, the output setting is 48 kHz digital audio, and you have to manually switch it back to Dolby Digital. In foregoing driver versions, this was (not) allways the case. This indeed seems to be a bug of this version. Can this be addressed in the next version?

Figures... I post on here my success and there is a hiccup. Today was the first time in a long time I got an unstable buffer after ~18 hours. I use the Sirocco for our whole house audio. A quick disconnect, connect, reset for "6 speaker" and everything has been fine for the past hour.

{maybe I should refrain from posting :) .... }

Hi Jeff,
Thanks for the feedback. I'm interested to see if this helps other Vista users as well.
