Hi,
I recently reinstalled my laptop with XP SP3 slipstreamed into the installation ISO. Before that I was running XP with SP3 added as an update. Since my reinstall I have been unable to connect with my Sirocco in any way. When I connect the two with an ethernet cable the Sirocco LAN LED lights up, and the PC results in the usual "limited connectivity" mode - this always happened (I've been using it almost a year) and I could always configure the Sirocco despite this.
- I've tried both versions of the driver software (2.1.0 and 2.6beta)- I cant remember exactly which firmware is installed.
- I've forced the PC onto the 192.168.1.X subnet (on 192.168.1.1), resulting in normal connection (ie, no "limited connection" warning). There's nothing on 192.168.1.254, but I do find a "Wireless access point" on 192.168.1.2. Since nothing else is connected Im assuming this is the Sirocco.. the username: Super, password: [blank] combo doesn't work though. (Sirocco was reset).
I know that the Sirocco uses low level programming to connect with the PC, and am wondering if some new safety feature of SP3 is interfering with this somehow (even though the XP SP2 + SP3 update worked). My firewall is off.
Ethernet card is Broadcom Netlink Gigabit Ethernet

solved
I found my original driver CD and gave it a spin. That solved the problem. I suppose it is a version which is not available for download anymore. Maybe it should be?
