I'm really sorry to post this topic. I'm my self an owner of a Sirocco.
After I bought a new laptop with Vista the troubles started.
The support from Sondigo has not been the best even though I know Aron is trying, but in the end it didn't help me.
Since my problems stayed I stored my Sirocco in the basement.
Today I got a pair of devices from Audioengine which I must say is absolutley outstanding. After 30 sec I was up and running with a fantastic sound quality (I'm not kidding) and more or less no latency.

I know, it's not fair to Sondigo to post this on their own forum, but I'm in the same situation as many other people here and I found a way which resloved my issues.
I'm one of the first in Europe to have it, so it's available both in US and Europe right now.

I think you can't compare a AW1 with a Sirocco.
First of all i bought the Sirocco, because i want to use my Surround-system with my Notebook without any plugs on it anywhere in the room. Second there is the optical output for 5.1 Surround.
Although i'm still experiencing some problems with my front connector the optical one is working fine and there is still haven't seen any other solution for my sound-system.
Partly you're right
The AW1 don't have surround sound, but the difference to Sirocco is that it's working...
If you use your Sirocco for stereo sound I can guarantee you will be up and running with the same sound quality within seconds with AW1. Without any kind of dropouts.
My Sirocco was working really fine on XP, but as soon as I got my new laptop with Vista, the troubles started and still (6 months later) no solution delivered from Sondigo.
