I receive this error whenever I try to run C-Media Wi-Sonic Wireless Audio Center from the shortcut in the Start Menu. I am using Vista 64 Home Premium SP 1 and version 2.6 of the drivers. When I disconnect and then reconnect the LAN cable, the Audio Center comes up automatically.
However, I desire to use this device wirelessly. Once I unplug the power the blue AUDIO light stops blinking until I reconnect the LAN cable and reconnect the Sirocco from the Audio Center. The blue light continues to blink after I diconnect the LAN cable. But, I'm afraid the power receptacle for my home theater system is in a different room from my computer.
Update: the blue light only continues to blink for a couple of minutes after I disconnect the LAN cable.
P.S.: I get the error message in the subject whether or not I have the Sirocco connected to the LAN cable.
P.P.S.: I am able to use the Audio Center and the setup wizard successfully with the Sirocco connected to my router with a LAN cable. I now have the Sirocco working, but I did it with a 50 foot cat-5e cable - not exactly what I intended.

This might help
Not sure if this will help you or not, but I had problems setting up the device for wireless access. I had to configure the Sirocco with an XP machine, then install the driver only on the Vista machine (stop the setup after the driver install and before the device config part). It worked OK for me after that. Your problem sounds similar to mine, but not exactly the same, so 1) not sure this will help and 2) not everyone has an extra XP machine lying around. I tried the version 2.1
I switched to the version 2.1 drivers and there wasn't any difference in performance.
