It's been just over a year I got my Sirocco. Was working fine but now the sound comes out all distorted. At first I though the thin optical cable it comes with might have damaged so I replaced it but the problem persists.
My environment hasn't changed since (other than I had XP SP2):
Windows XP SP3
AMD Athlon X2 3800+ 2.02Ghz
2 GB RAM
Realtek AC97 Audio controller
Sirocco Driver 1.0.48.4 and the 1.10.0.10 firmware (i.e. the one it came with).
The Sirocco control panel show the buffer at a 100% so I can't find any indication of what's wrong.
After reading some conflicting stories about using the latest XP/Vista drivers I'm not sure if I want to go ahead and change the firmware of the unit and install the new drivers.
Any hints appreciated.

Tip for foobar2000 users (0.8x or 0.9x):
Make sure the Output data format is set to 24bit or it will still sound distorted (not sure why this happen since it had been working set at 32bit).
0.8.x Properties, Playback, Output section.
0.9.x Properties, Output, Output format/postprocessing section.

OK. Took a bit more effort than just reinstalling the audio driver, but finally got it to work again.
First, I had to uninstall the driver *and* reboot.
Then, I reinstalled the driver *and* rebooted again!
Finally after the previous reboot, finished the configuration (it found it with the name I gave it so I didn't have to set the unit itself again but I used the LAN connection just to be sure).
Now it's working in wireless mode again... for a minute there I though I had a brick in my hands with just a few days over a year since I bought it.
I just reinstalled it but
I just reinstalled it but made no difference.
I've tried playing from foobar, winamp and wmp... same thing for all of them a low distorted sound.
Could be a problem with the
Could be a problem with the audio portion of the Sirocco driver, have you tried re-installing it?
Also, have you tried using a different audio program?
