When trying to open the audio center, I get the following error message:
An exception occurred when trying to trying to run "Shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL Cmcnfgw.cpl". I've tried both firmwares and both drivers, and neither seem to work. I'm running Windows XP 64-bit.

Original Firmware Username + Password
Hello Aaron,
I just downgraded my Sirocco to the original firmware (v1.10.0.10) that I downloaded from the location you mentionned.
But when I try to change de device configuration, the wizard asks me a user name + password in a log in pop up,,
Could you please tell me what are these log in information, or where I could download the original firmware without log in required?
Thank you;
nico
Hi Robbie, I'm not sure
Hi Robbie,
I'm not sure either; since all driver versions behaved the same it may be a software conflict on your PC. Some registry cleaning software might help. Or perhaps old versions of the driver are not being uninstalled correctly.
No workie
Unfortunately, that didn't work either. Same error message. I'm out of ideas.
You might want to try the
You might want to try the original driver and firmware:
driver: http://sondigo.com/productsupport/downloads/sirocco/sirocco_driver_06032...
firmware: http://sondigo.com/productsupport/downloads/sirocco/siroccofirmware_v110...
Drivers
I mean the 2.1 and 2.6 versions... I don't know where my CD is.
Hi Robbie, When you say that
Hi Robbie,
When you say that you've tried both drivers, which two versions are you referring to? There are 3 available:
1) the version on the CD
2) the 2.1 version from http://www.sondigo.com/sirocco/updateguide
3) the 2.6 version from http://www.sondigo.com/sirocco/updateguide
Same thing
I uninstalled Symantec completely from the system and don't have any software firewalls, including the XP firewall turned off. I am still getting the same error when trying to open the audio center. Here's more detail:
When I left click on the C-Media Wi-Sonic Wireless Audio Center icon in my system tray and choose open, that's when this error occurs and the audio center does not open. When I choose MUSICBRIDGE, the audio light turns on but I don't get any audio out of the box. Also, when trying to choose my default audio device in Sound and Audio Device Properties, the C-Media device isn't in the list, it's just my PC sound card. When I go in to Control Panel and choose C-Media Wi-Sonic Config, I get a similar message.
An exception occurred when trying to run "C:\WINDOWS\system32\shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL "C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmcnfgw.cpl",C-Media Wi-Sonic Config.
I also tried testing this on another freshly installed Windows XP 64-bit system and I get the same errors. I don't know if it matters, but my PC sound card uses Realtek drivers. Hopefully from all this info, we can figure out what's going on.
Hi Robbie, Unfortunately
Hi Robbie,
Unfortunately that is not a very informative error message. If you haven't already, try disabling any firewall/security software before starting up the Control panel. It may also help to install the Sirocco software while your security software is disabled.
