Linksys WRT54GX4 issue--Does it also apply to WRT54G version 5?

It's mentioned in the support FAQ that there's a bug in the Linksys WRT54GX4 that causes a incompatibility with the Sirocco, but a fix is given.

Does WRT54GX4 mean the same thing as WRT54GX version 4?

Is this same issue known to apply to the WRT54GX version 5?

I believe the WRT54GX4 is a specific model of Linksys router, and the "4" refers to a hardware configuration, not just a firmware release.

There is a list of all of Linksys' current router models here. As you can see, the WRT54GX and WRT54GX4 are different models.

I've used Sirocco with the WRT54G and it has worked fine. We haven't had any reports of problems with the WRT54GX, but if you have issues it's probably the same QoS issue. The issue with the WRT54GX4 is very easy to fix, and Sirocco works great after disabling the QoS setting.

Linksys should think about mixing up their products' model numbers a bit :^)
