Audio LED solid blue---what to do?

The manual shows "N/A" for the significance of a solid blue LED on the Audio indicator. I've gone through uninstall, reinstall, reset, and power off cycles with the Sondigo and its software and cannot get the indicator to start blinking again, as it was recently while the unit was working.

The setup wizard completes as normal, and the LAN light is on. I am able to connect to unit and the buffer ramps up to its prescribed time. As soon as I connect, the blue Audio LED goes from off to solid blue. When I disconnect, it goes off. It will not blink, despite having audio content playing while connected, and there is no sound.

How long has it been

How long has it been happening? Do you have any other PCs that you can try installing the software on?

Audio Light Still Solid Blue

I am having this problem as well, solid blue audio light. The equalizer display in the Audio Settings tab shows activity when the music is playing, but there is no sound from the device, and the audio light remains solid at all times.

I have run through all the fixes listed in this topic, checked the mute settings, but nothing works.

documentation

Yes, we will definitely update the documentation on this. This is a function that we were not made aware of by the device firmware developers. Sorry it took us a few days to figure it out, and thanks very much for your patience.

Interesting. Under the mixer

Interesting. Under the mixer tab, the mute was not on, but for
some reason, the
'Wave' volume slider was set to minimum (I don't recall ever having done that). When I increased that, the solid blue LED went to blinking and I heard the music.

It would be great if you could insert some documentation on
what the solid blue indicator means (apparently, that either
the mute is on or the volume has been set to minimum). My sondigo
has been down for a good while since I haven't had time to debug beyond all the resets, reinstalls, and firmware downloading.

Give this a try...

I just looked into this a bit more and I think we've found a solution. The audio light is solid blue when the audio is muted. To fix this, open the Sirocco Control Panel and click on the "Mixer" tab. Underneath the big rotary knob is a small button. Press this so that it lights up, and now try playing your music.

Let me know if this solves your problem.

I just had the opportunity

I just had the opportunity to try your solution. It did not work. The computer completed the firmware upgrade with the message "upgrade successful" and I followed the wizard setup. Upon moving the unit over to my stereo, I connected with the Sondigo control panel. The buffer went to full utilization, but the LED on the unit is solid blue, and there is no sound. What next?

Sounds like a firmware problem

Hi,
From your description, it sounds like your driver installation is working ok, but there is a problem with the firmware on the Sirocco receiver. I'd recommend resetting the firmware as follows:

1. Download the firmware file from the following link, and save it to your Desktop: Sirocco
firmware download

2. Open your Sirocco Control Panel and click on the Wizard icon to open the Sirocco Setup Wizard.

3. Connect your computer to the Sirocco with an Ethernet cable.

4. At the first step of the Wizard, choose "Upgrage firmware" and click Next.

5. Choose your Sirocco from the list of devices (there will probably only be one choice), and click OK

6. Click the "Browse..." button and navigate to the firmware file that you downloaded, then click "Open".

7. Click "Finish", and wait a few seconds while the firmware is transferred to the device.

8. If the firmware transfer is successful, you should get a message indicating that it has completed.

9. You will want to run through the Sirocco setup wizard again, this time choosing "Device Configuration", to restore your device settings (wireless network, encryption, etc).

10. Once you're finished going through the wizard, your Sirocco should be good as new. Disconnect the Ethernet cable if you want to go wireless, and then use it as before.

Let me know if you have any problems at one of these steps. Hope this helps!
