I am having similar problems to a couple of other posters. The audio LED remains a solid blue when I am connected from a WIN2K machine. As stated by other users the buffer does not fill and no audio is streamed. The mixers are all unmuted and levels cranked and I see the audio meter in the mixer deflecting with the music.
I can successfully stream to the Sirocco unit using another PC running XP. On the WIN2K computer I am running NIS 2006 and have disabled it but it did not help.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Kevin

Hi Kevin, Based on this
Hi Kevin,
Based on this description, it does seems likely that it is some kind of conflict with the Win2k machine's networking drivers. Do you restart this computer often? If not, perhaps what you have just found is a suitable solution?

I gave the re-configuring a shot but it made no difference to the performance of the Win2K PC, I'm still having the same issues. I can connect but the audio LED remains solid and the buffer usage in the utility stays at 0%.

I have tried various combinations and found that the only way to get the Sirocco to work with my Win2K computer is to boot the computer with the Sirocco connected to it's Ethernet port. Once it established a connection I can disconnect the two and the Sirocco works fine wireless. I tried connecting the Sirocco wired to the router and get the same results. The Sirocco consistently works with my XP laptop in all configurations. I am thinking it is some kind of driver or conflict problem with the win2k PC.

Strange, have you tried re-configuring the Sirocco (using the Setup Wizard) from the laptop? Then restart the desktop PC and try connecting from there. This seemed to work for our other customer.
After a cold reboot the
After a cold reboot the Sirocco no longer worked wireless. So I connected it directly to the PC Ethernet port and I still can't get it to work. It only diplays a solid blue light and no audio is passed. Sirocco still works fine from my laptop.

Hi Aaron, Interesting thing
Hi Aaron,
Interesting thing happened. I disconnected my Sirocco from the PC and reconnected the PC to the router. After a couple of seconds the audio light began flashing and the Sirocco passed audio. It's Working! I did not do a software disconnect of the sirocco from my computer using the Sirocco control panel. I can now connect and disconnect with no problem. I will try to reboot the PC and see what happens.

hi Kevin, Yes, I think it is
hi Kevin,
Yes, I think it is a problem with the router switching packets between its wired and wireless interfaces. To confirm this, can you try wiring both your PC and Sirocco to the router and see if it works?
As far as fixes go, I would try cycling the power on the router, and possibly a router firmware update.
Also, I think someone had the same problem with the latest version of the WRT54G (there are several hardware versions- I have an older one that works great). They were able to fix it by running the setup on a computer that was connected to the router wirelessly. After that, computers wired into the router were able to connect to the Sirocco. To be honest, I don't understand how this could have solved the problem, but you might want to give it a try.
Hi Aaron,It works great
Hi Aaron,
It works great with the Sirocco connected directly to the computers Ethernet port. And interestingly enough the sirocco also routes IP traffic through it’s wireless link so I still have IP connectivity to my PC...cool. Do you have any suggestions on how to get it to work PC>Ethernet>router>wireless>Sirocco?
Thanks,
Kevin
Hi Kevin, For testing, I'd
Hi Kevin,
For testing, I'd recommend disconnecting your desktop PC from the router, and connecting Sirocco directly to your PC's Ethernet port.
It may be that there's a problem with the router switching packets from its wired interface to its wireless interface.
I'm using a Lynksys WRT54G
I'm using a Lynksys WRT54G Router. The Sirocco is connected via wireless and works fine when using my Neovo T43 Thinkpad running XP and wireless but not my desktop running Win2K connected via ehternet to the router. How do I go about connecting the Sirocco Via ehternet? Last night I tried and when I plugged in the ethernet cable to the Sirocco my router locked up and needed a power down reset. Could this be because the router was trying to deal with the same MAC addresss and IP via two paths wireless and wired?
Kevin
Hi Kevin, Can you describe
Hi Kevin,
Can you describe how your Sirocco is connected on your local network? Which router are you using?
Also, I'd recommend connecting the Sirocco directly to your PC via Ethernet, and then see if you can stream audio to the device sucessfully. This will help determine whether we're dealing with a network problem.
