i have had sirocco working great for a few months, no problems whatsoever. about a week ago, it started dropping off the network sporadically. none of my network settings have changed, so it is pretty puzzling. currently, if i unplug the sirocco and let it boot back up, it will connect and play audio for about 5 minutes before dropping back off. the buffer has also started to run out all the time, with no traffic on the network besides myself, which has never been a problem before. i read about people having problems with linksys routers, so i tried upgrading my router firmware, but the problem remained. any ideas about what could be going wrong?

yeah, i just got that
yeah, i just got that c-media page once, then things were back to normal.
router is linksys wrt54g (hardware v5, firmware up to date).
mixed mode(b+g)
channel 4 (6 was cluttered in my neighborhood)
SSID broadcast enabled (in the past, i left it disabled and sirocco worked fine)
WPA Personal-TKIP
MAC filter-on (permit only laptop and sondigo MACs)
what i don't understand is the suddeness of sondigo stopping to work, with the router settings not changing a bit.
thanks for the help.
Hi Ralph, To restore the
Hi Ralph,
To restore the Sirocco to where it was before you saw the C-Media configuration page, just run through the Sirocco Setup Wizard again, and enter your settings from before.
Also, which model of router are you using? Also, can you tell us a little more about how your wireless network is configured? What are the settings for encryption, MAC address filtering, etc.
Thanks,
Aaron
new problems
yes, and yes. thanks for the reply, but no luck with either. was next to my reciever, moved it; checked out wireless in area, several in the area, so i changed channels to hopefully reduce jamming.
however...
uninstalled-reinstalled driver, reset sirocco to start fresh. still works like a charm wired. wireless light will light up during first setup after sirocco reset, then as soon as ethernet cable is out, wireless light turns off, can't find device. on subsequent setups, sirocco is unable to detect any wireless networks at all. strange.
as well, during one attempt i suddenly got a different version of software, a c-media page that was attempting to set up the sirocco as a wireless access point? now it seems like my computer wants to connect to the internet through the sirocco, hence why it can't find a network? i never was able to find that software again, it opened up a browser window and seemed to be setting options from there.
i know this is beginning to sound more like a personal problem then a sirocco problem, but thanks for any help you can give.
Some ideas
1. Is the Sirocco in a ventilated area, or is it possibly getting heated up by an amplifier or some other equipment?
2. Are there a lot of other wireless access points in your area? We have noticed that the new 802.11n and some of the pre-n wireless products really don't play very nice with other equipment and can kind of 'jam' the whole 2.4GHz spectrum. One way to check this is to run some really cool (and free) software called 'network stumbler' http://www.netstumbler.com/ which will list all the various 802.11 wireless access points in the vicinity.
have isolated problem a
have isolated problem a little... definitely a network problem. wired sirocco works fine, wireless not so much. device will connect to the wireless network fine, flashing blue audio light, everything great except the buffer will build to 20% or so, then fall back to zero, repeatedly. if i hit confirm, i will lose the network connection. scanning for audio device will bring it back, with the same buffer problem. how did this suddenly happen, i've made no changes to my network? help!!
