Q: While trying to update the Sirocco's firmware using the web page at 192.168.1.254, I get a "Page Not Found" error, or something similar, and I can't view the web page.
A: It's possible that your computer's networking settings are configured in a way that doesn't allow it to connect to the Sirocco's built-in web server.

Try setting up your wired Ethernet networking interface to use a Static IP Address, with the following settings:
IP Address: 192.168.1.200
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
The rest of the settings are not important. If you're not sure how to configure your PC to use a Static IP address, see this guide , but use the settings given above.

Despite wiring the Sirocco directly to my PC via Ethernet, I can't access the device using the setup wizard. I have the original firmware on the Sirocco.

Thanks to our customer Sebastien for the following solution:

  1. Get the original driver which comes with the CD or download it
  2. Get the version 2.1 driver with the new firmware: download link
  3. Unpack both drivers onto your hard drive and go to the unpacked folder of the ORIGINAL driver
  4. Right-click on setup.exe, choose "Properties" and go to "Compatibility"
  5. Check the box in front of "Run programm in compatibility mode" and click "OK"
  6. Connect your Sirocco directly to your PC, using a ethernet cable
  7. Run the setup.exe of the original driver and click onto "firmware upgrade", and choose the new firmware file from the version 2.1 unpacked driver folder.
  8. When the firmware upgrade is done, uninstall the original driver and restart the PC
  9. Take the Sirocco device and press the RESET Button on the back until RESET light begins to flash (it's like 10secs)
  10. Install the 2.1 driver simply through the setup.exe out of the unpacked folder of driver 2.1
  11. Use "Device Configuration" after setup is done or go to the wizard of the just installed 2.1. driver and run it.
Q: When trying to install or use the Sirocco, I get the following error message: "Windows needs your permission to continue. Run a legacy CPL elevated". Also, I have other problems when using the Sirocco Control Panel and/or the device.
This is a problem that has popped up on a few PCs, and so far can only be fixed by disabling Vista's UAC security feature. To do that, see this guide. Make sure you understand and accept the risk associated with disabling UAC before you proceed.
