WARNING (windows 7)

so the windows 7 beta is out and i had read that vista drivers work fine with it so i go ahead and install it, install the inferno vista drivers and.. well the result is it reformatted my drive, leaving it without a partition (it was unrecoverable). i lost a ton of files i didnt have backed up. i tried it again after the i lost everything on that drive and a similar thing happened, all the files were gone altho this time it still had a partition.

what happens is the second you click on the xear3d tray icon the hard drive starts to grind. i suppose thats it destroying all of the files.

so sondigo guys, you gonna release any windows 7 drivers for this card any time soon? ever?

Analog Dead

My audio setup using the inferno was working perfectly fine for the last 8 months or so. Suddenly 2 days ago, there's NO output at all from the analog.. which is what I use primarily. I tried to reinsert all the jacks and tried the sound tests from the inferno software, but nothing would come out. I changed the output to digital and everything works. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks.

recording from any source not working

related to "Static/crackling during Recording all of a sudden" post

I'm using windows xp sp3 (tested on windows xp sp2 too)
it happened to me these days when I tried a skype call, no one could hear me. So I checked the microphone monitoring and I could hear only static, tried in linux too only the output is ok.
The strange thing is that neither the loopback (wave) recording is not working anymore I can hear only static sound.
I tried it on fresh new computer and the recording is not working on that either, the cables are ok because I tested using the onboard soundcard.
The static sound is lowered if I lower the input volume but I can't hear anything from the microphone / line in.

Can it be that the BT-5S Bestar is defective ?

Regards

Any word on new drivers?

Any word on when a new driver version is going to be released?

Headphones surround sound

Which is the best option to choose in games for surround sound using headphones/headset?

Would I be best using the Dolby headphone option? Or am I better off choosing the 5.1 speaker setting?

I noticed when I turn on the Dolby Headphone option, everything sounds louder and clearer, but the surround sound effect isn't as much as when I leave that option off.

I mostly play the online game, Lord Of The Rings Online (LOTRO). I also use Vista x64.

SPDIF IN problems with Dish Network

I connected the my Dish Network HD digital receiver to the SPDIF IN on the Inferno sound card, the regular standard definition channels sound great, but when i change it to a HD channel their is a loud crackling sound coming from the speakers. Is their a way for the sound to come out on the HD channels.

creative fatal1ty headphones

I just purchased the Creative Fatal1ty gaming headphones and am having problems with it on my sondigo inferno. I can get the music to play in the headphones but it will not detect the microphone. Everything was hooked up as it should be. The only way I could get it to work is to use my realtec onboard sound card which is ok but not what I spent good money on to use. My computer system is winxp pro sp 2. I had my onboard sound card disabled in bios before trying to use the head phones on the sondigo. It should be easy to just plug it in and it work but so far it has not been easy to do that with anything. Anyways thanks for the help.

No center channel

I just hooked up my inferno to my receiver with 5 speakers (no sub). I am getting no sound from the center channel speaker. The receiver will send a test tone to all speakers just fine. In the inferno audio config menu, clicking on each speaker produces a response except for the center channel. I have tried reloading software. Any ideas?

Can't record with Inferno

I have tried recording using the line input (where I can see a level and make a recording using Windows sound recorder) and the CD Player (no level shows). When I try to click on the record button, nothing happens.

I am using Windows XP.

Is there a way of bypassing the Windows sound kernal? It is a nuisance.

Thanks.

Don.

Need help out output/Input

I'm in Vista and have the sound properties within Vista set to 7 channels with the 2 rear channels disabled but, side channels active. I then went into the C-Media drivers and set the input to 6 channels and output to 6 channels along with either Dolby Digital Live or DTS.

Now the issue im having is that my reciever will reconize that all channels are being sent only when I use WMP11 compared to MPC. With MPC I there is just left and right, nothing else. I've gone to the extent of changing the output within MPC but, the best I can do is get it to use any of the simulated DSP's like Neo:6 or ProLogic2. This still doesn't help me since it's not truly 6 channels.

I don't want to use WMP11 because it allows the videocard to decode the video which causes tearing.
