C-Media Wi-Sonic Technology Overview

C-Media Wi-Sonic is the engine that powers the Sirocco Wireless Audio Bridge. Read about its advantages over other wireless audio technologies below.

C-Media Wi-Sonic™ is the PC industry's first multi-channel wireless network audio technology, designed to replace the wire between the PC and existing home audio set-ups through a standard 802.11b/g wireless network.

On the PC side, users simply install software - no additional hardware is required. C-Media Wi-Sonic™ uses the PC's existing network devices (wired or wireless). On the remote side users connect a hardware adapter (such as a Sondigo Sirocco Wireless Audio Bridge) to their speakers or home audio system.

C-Media Wi-Sonic™ can improve the PC's role as the media center in the digital home by removing the wiring hassle between PCs and living room audio systems (stereos, A/V receivers, surround systems). C-Media Wi-Sonic™ supports sending lossless PCM and Dolby Digital formats to the remote Wi-Sonic™ audio receiver, where it is connected to the user's audio system and heard in real time.

With the C-Media Network Audio Driver (NAD) installed on any PC or Notebook, you can listen to all of your audio, regardless of the music software application, through your high quality home audio system without the pain of stringing wires. Downloaded or ripped music files (of any format, including protected AAC and WMA files), Audio CDs, PC Games, Internet Radio, VCD, DVD and more are supported.

For higher performance, the connection between the PC and the Wi-Sonic™ audio receiver can also be made through a standard wired Ethernet connection.
